Do you ever feel stuck or run out of ideas to use with your child and teen clients? Are you in need of some new techniques for self-esteem and self-compassion to use with clients at in your agency or private practice? This one hour webinar is designed to help therapists step outside of the box and discover some new creative play therapy interventions that can be used in their practice with children and teens. Stefanie will provide demonstrations and experiential activities to illustrate the use of these playful and interactive strategies.
Stefanie has been sharing all of the fun and creative videos she offers through her YouTube channel and her therapeutic games for the past couple years and now she has brought us this interactive class with creative interventions.
Stefanie Sherbon is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) in California and she has been providing therapy services for children and teens for over 10 years. She believes deeply in empowering children and helping them openly express themselves through the use of play therapy. Stefanie has been an adjunct professor at California Baptist University since 2011, where she teaches courses in Child and Adolescent Techniques and Play Therapy for Special Populations.
She has provided clinical support services for foster children through a non-profit agency and for elementary-age children in her local school system. She has offered counseling to underserved populations (ages 4 and up) in multiple settings. Stefanie has a great deal of clinical experience addressing abuse, trauma, grief and loss, divorce, bullying, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. In addition to her clinical and teaching experience, she also has provided play therapy continuing education trainings for her local APT chapter and various other agencies and higher education institutes.
Stefanie is the author of the therapeutic book called The Invisible Backpack aims to help kids cope with negative life events through a relatable, non-threatening story. This book is one I personally have found to be incredibly useful with helping children understand why they are coming to play therapy and have enthusiastically introduced it to many of my supervisees and therapists attending my trainings. It’s now available in Spanish as well as English.
She is also the creator of Owl Pal Divorce – Therapeutic Game for Children, and Owl Pal Truth – Therapeutic Game for Abused Children. She has other therapeutic games too! Go Heart Yourself for self-esteem and Fly Free for teens who have experienced abuse/trauma.
